Chocolate Frosting Ice cream Recipe

Chocolate Frosting Ice cream

It’s no secret that the Ninja Creamy machine has taken home ice cream making to a new level.

What used to be a somewhat time-consuming process has become super easy and approachable, even for people who don’t consider themselves great in the kitchen.

That’s partly because you can make frozen desserts in the Ninja Creamy with such a wide variety of ingredients, especially items that you wouldn’t ordinarily use in a traditional ice cream maker.

I’ve made ice cream with pudding mix, sherbet with Jell-O, sorbet with canned fruit, and so much more!

Having these kinds of shortcuts really makes it simple to whip up a batch of something delicious, but with minimal effort.

Not only that, but you can customize your desserts based on dietary needs!

From dairy-free Ninja Creamy recipes to Weight-Watchers friendly treats, it’s easy to make tweaks to suit your preference.

That versatility is how this Ninja Creamy chocolate frosting ice cream was born!

The result was a rich and creamy treat that tastes ultra indulgent, but that required so little effort on my part.

How to Make Ice Cream with Chocolate Frosting

You only need three ingredients to make this chocolate ice cream, but the ratios are important here.

We know that the Ninja Creamy operates on the fact that the base is a solid frozen block prior to processing (that’s why the base has to freeze for at least 24 hours).

But because frosting has such a high sugar content, it won’t ever freeze completely.

So if you use too much frosting, the ice cream base won’t get to a solid state.

But if you don’t use enough frosting, your ice cream won’t be sweet enough or chocolatey enough.

I did a bit of trial and error to determine the best ratios, and the result was a creamy ice cream with plenty of rich chocolate flavor!

Ingredients You’ll Need:

  • Milk
  • Chocolate frosting (I used pre-made frosting in a can)
  • Heavy cream

Instructions

Mix the base. To start, you’ll want to combine the milk and chocolate frosting.

Use an immersion blender to blend it up together well.

Add in the heavy cream and stir with a spoon to incorporate.

Pour the mixture into a Ninja Creamy pint container and secure the lid.

Freeze. Place the pint container on a level surface in your freezer for at least 24 hours.

Spin. Remove the pint from the freezer and take off the lid.

Place the container into the outer bowl of the Ninja Creami, then secure the outer bowl lid.

Lock the outer bowl into place in the machine and press the Ice Cream button. Allow the cycle to complete.

Check texture. Remove the container from the machine and check the ice cream’s consistency.

If it appears crumbly or powdery, you can insert it back into the machine and press the Re-spin button.

If it’s still crumbly after that, add a tablespoon of milk and Re-spin again.

It should be nice and creamy when it’s ready. Serve and enjoy!
