Carnivore Ice Cream Recipe
Here’s how to make the best carnivore diet ice cream! This recipe is great for those on the keto diet, paleo diet, low-carb diet, or any animal-based diet, etc (though it can be enjoyed by anyone).
When I started the carnivore diet, I didn’t know it was possible to make healthy ice cream. This recipe has both an unsweetened and sweetened version. Personally, I prefer adding a little bit of raw honey, but its still delicious if you leave it out!
This is something I eat on occasion for a treat, not as a dietary staple. Though the raw dairy and raw egg yolks are nutrient powerhouses, so you technically could make it as a meal—if you tolerate them well (especially if you omit the honey/sweetener).
Ingredients
- 4 egg yolks
- 2 cups of heavy cream
- 1/2 teaspoon of red mound salt
- (optional) 1-3 tbsp of raw honey
- (optional) 1 tsp of vanilla
Instructions
- Separate egg yolks from the whites
- Mix together egg yolks, heavy cream, redmond salt
- (optional) Add raw honey and vanilla. Keep in mind the raw honey will add carbs to your ice cream. If you’re looking for a zero carb sweetener to use, I’d recommend allulose. The ice cream still tastes great unsweetened, but I prefer a bit of raw honey in it.
- Once ingredients are well combined, add the mixture to the ice cream maker and mix for about 25 minutes (until its the texture of soft serve ice cream).
- Eat right away or store in a glass container in the freezer for a few hours to let it harden before serving!
